LECA, or Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, is a versatile potting medium that can be incorporated into your regular mix to add chunkiness, or can be used on its own for hydroponics.
The consistently round shape provides a high degree of aeration, which ensures extremely quick drainage and unimpeded root growth.
The clay balls are also less susceptible to pest and disease than other solid substrates. Hydro Clay is an ideal substrate to provide structural support and ensure the efficient drainage of liquid during plant growth.
Clay balls are also referred to as clay pebbles, hydro balls, hydroton balls, or leca balls.

Benefits of using LECA
- Blended with other growing mediums such as soil and peat, it can improve drainage, retain water and provide roots with increased oxygen levels promoting very vigorous growth.

Tips & Tricks
Before using the LECA, we recommend you wash it thoroughly until the water runs mostly clear to wash off any of the clay dust. Do not rinse LECA in your sink as this may clog it. Soak the LECA in water for 24hrs before use.
