The Begonia Maculata Polka Dot is a show stopping and to easy to care for member of the Begonia family.
It is known for being one of the most striking of the Begonia family with deep green & spotted angular leaves with bright red/purple backs. It also produces clusters of the cutest pink flowers in the summer time.
General Care Guide
Lighting - Begonia can tolerate anything from bright indirect light to lower light conditions, but is happiest somewhere in between. Just be weary of direct sun as this may cause the leaves to burn and it can fade its spots.
Watering - Begonia like to be slightly wetter compared to a lot of other plants, so don't allow them to dry out completely. Allow them to dry out about 50% before re-watering as they can get root rot if left too wet for too long.
Soil - When it comes time to re-pot, use a well draining, all round soil mix, such as our GrowingGreen House Plant Mix.
Staking - Begonia are generally fast growers and do require supporting. They aren't climbers as such, so we recommend using Clear Plant Stakes with Butterfly Clips or something similar to give them some support.
Fertiliser -Â We recommend feeding every time you water using a fertiliser such as GT Foliage Focus or SuperThrive Foliage Pro to help your plant thrive!
